Storage full, can't upload
You've had a storage warning, or a file was refused because it would exceed your allowance. What still works and how to free space.
Symptom: you’ve been warned your storage is filling up, or a file was refused because it “would take your workspace past its storage allowance”.
When this happens
You’re notified, in PIToolkit and by email, at 85% and at 95% of your storage allowance. A file that would take you over the allowance isn’t added. The Free plan includes 5 GB. Check your usage in Settings, section Plan & usage, Evidence storage.
What still works
Everything except adding new evidence. You can still:
- open, preview and download your evidence
- export all your data
- create and work on cases, and track time
- write and publish reports
- message your clients
A full allowance never locks you out of your own data.
How to fix it
- Remove evidence you no longer need. Removing an exhibit frees its space straight away. You can’t remove evidence from an archived case; restore the case from the archive first. Closing or archiving a case doesn’t free space on its own.
- Download a copy first of anything you want to keep outside PIToolkit.
Paid plans with more storage (250 GB on Solo, 1 TB on Professional) aren’t open for sign-up yet. See Plans, storage and billing.
