Firm Planned

Common questions about plans
Can I sign up now?
Not yet. PIToolkit is in development, and accounts open with a small private Beta. There is no checkout and nothing to pay for today. The 90-second survey is how to hear when that changes.
Is the Free plan a trial?
No. There's no time limit. Free covers 25 active cases and 5 GB of encrypted evidence storage, with the same encryption, hash chain, two-factor sign-in and recovery key as the paid plans. Reports carry a small “Prepared with PIToolkit” credit, and you can invite up to 3 portal clients.
Do my clients pay anything?
No. Your clients use the portal at no cost to them. Portal clients count toward your plan's limit (3 on Free, unlimited on Solo and Professional), not toward a bill of their own.
Are any security features on paid plans only?
No, and they never will be. Browser-side encryption, the evidence hash chain, two-factor sign-in, recovery keys, session management and your security log are on every plan.
If I lose my password, can you recover my account?
Not by resetting it: we don't hold your keys, so a password reset from our side would open nothing. You get back in with your recovery key and, if two-factor sign-in is on, your authenticator app or a backup code as well. If you lose both your password and your recovery key, PIToolkit alone can't recover your account. That's true on every plan, and it's the cost of us being unable to read your files. Is there a contract?
The plan is month to month, with annual billing as an option rather than a requirement. Full billing terms, including renewals and cancellation, will be published in our Terms of Service before anything is for sale.
What about teams and firms?
Team accounts are planned for a later phase. Today every account is for one investigator. If you run a firm, tell us how many investigators you have; it helps us set team pricing sensibly.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. You can export your whole account at any time, on any plan, as a ZIP of spreadsheets and your original evidence files. The downloaded file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe. Exporting your data.
