Plans, storage and billing
What the Free plan includes, the planned Solo and Professional plans, storage warnings, and what still works when you reach a limit.

Paid plans aren’t open for sign-up yet. Everyone is on the Free plan for now. When you reach a Free limit, the Upgrade to Solo button is shown but can’t take a payment yet.
Security isn’t a paid extra. Encryption, two-factor authentication, your recovery key, evidence integrity and your activity log are the same on every plan.
How the Free limits work
- 25 active cases counts cases in Inquiry, Active or Report writing. Closing or archiving a case frees a slot.
- 3 client portal accounts counts the different email addresses you’ve invited, across your whole workspace: clients with live access, plus invitations that haven’t been used or expired yet. Inviting the same client to another case doesn’t use another slot, and ending a client’s access frees theirs.
- 5 GB of storage is for evidence.
- Reports have no count limit. On Free, report PDFs carry a “PITOOLKIT FREE PLAN” watermark.
- Messaging and time tracking have no limits on any plan.

Settings, section Plan & usage, shows your Active cases, Evidence storage and Client portals against your plan’s limits.
Storage warnings
You’re notified, in PIToolkit and by email, at 85% and again at 95% of your storage.
When a file would take you past your allowance, it isn’t added, and nothing else is affected. Everything else keeps working: you can open, preview, download and export your evidence, work on your cases, track time, publish reports and message clients. A full allowance never locks you out of your own data.
